The Mouth of God

Trials and Tribulations,-The Mouth of God, Brian Visagie Profile picture-WP-Copy.jpgWhen we initially come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ we are full of zeal in faith. As we continue in our new found walk of faith, we encounter all sorts of trials and tribulations. But trials and tribulations are no match for our fervent faith and prayers.

We seem to overcome just about every trial and tribulation – I say just about. Because, as you continue in your walk of faith, there will remain one area in your life were you just don’t seem to get deliverance. It could be an area in your personal life, or even in the life of a child of yours.

This was also the case with the prophet Jeremiah. In fact, this is the case with every believer in Jesus Christ. The prophet Jeremiah laments in Jer. 15:16-18, “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? Wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail?”

Does this sound like your experience as you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for your circumstances?  Does it seem to you that the Word of God is not working? Is it that when you pray for something specific that the exact opposite manifests?

The Fountain of Living Waters

God told Jeremiah that He (God) is the fountain of living waters (Jer. 2:13). This means that you can trust God with your life, and everything that you need. Yet, things went from bad to worse, so to speak, for Jeremiah. So bad that he called God a liar. He also said to God that God was to him like treacherous waters, instead of living waters.

This may sound blasphemous, but in Jer. 15:19 we can see God’s gracious response towards His elect. In Jer. 15:19 the Word of God says, “therefore thus saith the LORD, if thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth.”

The Precious from the Vile

To “take forth the precious from the vile” means you:

  • Separate the promises of blessings and deliverance, from every curse and reproach and condemnation which is found in the Written Word of God.
  • Separate the dreams and visions which are not in the Light of the Glory of God from the dreams and visions which are in the light of darkness.

In Deut. 30:19 the Word of God says: “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore, choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”

In the Bible you will find two spiritual streams – life and death, blessing and cursing. You choose life and blessing when you choose the blessings found written in the Word of God and speak them over your life.

Instead of speaking the interpretation of dreams and visions over your life, you should speak and pray the Word of God over your life. Thus, you become the mouth of God. And, what comes out of the mouth of God will surely come to pass for your life!

Speaking and Praying the Word

1 Kings 13:32 (AMP) says,  “For the words which he cried out by the word of the Lord against the altar in Bethel and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria shall certainly come to pass.”

The Word of God that you profess and pray in the Name of Jesus Christ against the devil and his onslaughts against you and your loved ones will surely come to pass.

Every one of us often stumbles in doubt. But if you get up and cling to that Word of God for your circumstances, and spiritually separate the precious from the vile, and the blessings from the curse, the Word of God says that you will be as the mouth of God!

God bless and guide you.
